It works well, but I had to uninstall this app because was using 62% of my battery and using massive amount of data.

I use this everytime I leave my house. I live in Tokyo and this app tells me what trains to take, has the rail colors, suggests multiple routes, displays the correct prices of each ticket youll need and is just all around amazing. It can drain your battery pretty quickly, though. To get around this, plan your trip at home with this app, snap a screenshot and retrieve it from the camera roll for later referencing. You WILL fall in love with this app quickly!
The app itself seems to work fine. Train line searches and all that. But if it runs in the background (and it will, by default), your battery will drain VERY quickly. I thought my battery was going bad until I discovered the cause--this app. I deleted it and the battery life is back to normal.
December 7th addition. I can no longer recommend this app since each time I try use it the ticket I purchased remains expired. Even after they gave me a free 30 days it still expires after a certain amount of time. Ok Im happy with the app and its functions; however, I dont know if I like the ticket purchase function. Its nice if you only need the app for vacations which only last 1 to 2 weeks or if you can 30 days. I generally would use it regularly living here in Japan. I just dont know if I want to pay for a year. Now for the con, I bought a ticket on a Saturday and used it for the day. On Monday I got a notice that said my ticket expired. I contacted the company and then reinstalled it. It worked for awhile but then expired again. Im on my 3rd download one more failure and Im contacting apple for s refund and going back to hyperdia and google maps. ej
Accessing location services constantly in the background drains the battery within a couple to a few hours. A very useful app otherwise.
OK Navitime you need to fix the issues that are causing dramatic battery drain due to what appear to be back ground services running. As of now I have uninstalled which solved the drain issue. I installed a competitive App which does;t Adrian my battery… Fix & I’ll reinstall!!!!
This app works great for finding the best train routs in Japan but OMG like $17.00 for a month or$ 8.00 for a week. Just too expensive for how many times you may use it.
Remove this app immediate, because not usefull, not free,...
This app will reduce your battery life to mill
I recently returned from a week long trip in Japan. This app helped me out TREMENDOUSLY with finding rail stations and which trains I should get on/times. I tried others, but this is the only one that would actually work. Thank you for making my week easier!
I hate to disclose the fact that it was a piece of garbage. Managed only to use it once in a big store. Better focus on something more useful.
Just used this app to travel around Japan via train. Its completely accurate and very useful. There were only two drawbacks that I saw that could be fixed down the road. One is to save stations as a favorite versus saving the route. The other would be to show which track should be used for a particular train.
Most travel app use my phone location WHILE USING THE APP. You can check this under Settings --> Privacy --> Location. For some reason, Japan Travel wants to access my location, all the time, even when I am not in Japan? This is a huge privacy issue.
I have downloaded so many. But this one is the best! Its very accurate compared to most! Another good one is Hyperdia! Highly recommend ONLY these during your travels in Japan. Happy exploring!
Best application for finding route by using Subway in Tokyo
When I have wi-fi and I tap to locate my current position it doesnt know and gives an error message.
I have lived in Japan for many months but still I dont get to the place on time thats why I needed a powerful app that will give me information about train schedule and status. Dont get me wrong, this app is almost perfect and I have been using it since the day I got here. The only missing components is "live timer", probably train status and platform number. Trains platform number is very important for those people who arent aware to the line company name so I guess those three components is a must have.
Unreliable. Very frustrating when it stops just when I need the information.
I used this to look up the subway routes I was planning to take each day while sightseeing. You can save routes for reference later when youre offline and I found that really helpful in my travels.
You have to download outside of Japan for the free wifi. Annoyed
